The Amaryllis harvest season has officially started at Chan Chan Amaryl in Peru. After months of careful preparation and monitoring, the first bulbs are now being harvested. This always marks the beginning of a new Amaryllis season for Kébol.
Strong start in the Amaryllis fields
In the fields of Chan Chan, the crop has developed under optimal conditions. Throughout the growing season, the bulbs have been closely monitored to ensure they reach the right stage for harvest.
“The crop looks healthy and strong. Measurements throughout the season show consistent growth, and we are confident in a high-quality harvest.” says Jos van der Drift, Managing Director at Kébol.
The combination of favourable growing conditions, careful field management and continuous monitoring results in strong, uniform bulbs is the foundation for a successful season.
From field to processing
As harvesting begins, the next phase of the process is already in motion. The bulbs are carefully lifted, sorted and prepared for further processing. Every step is focused on maintaining the high-quality standards Kébol is known for. Thanks to the close collaboration with Chan Chan Amaryl, we ensure a reliable and consistent supply chain from field to customer.
Optimising the supply chain
This season, an important step has been taken to further streamline logistics. With the introduction of a pre-shipment inspection program for the USA, bulbs no longer need to be inspected upon arrival.
This results in:
- Faster handling upon arrival
- Reduced costs
- More efficient delivery to customers
Looking ahead to the season
With the harvest now on its way, we are looking ahead to the upcoming sales season. The first batches will soon be available, forming the basis for a wide range of Amaryllis concepts, from dry bulbs to wax and pot programmes.
